One blog not enough for you? For more stories about what it's like on the cruise and the science we are doing, check out Dr. Amy Bower's OceanInsight blog. Amy is a physical oceanographer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the PI on our cruise from the Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Program (O-SNAP). Her blog chronicles both her science and her experience as legally blind scientist working at sea, and is part of her outreach program aimed at blind and visually impaired learners of all ages.
Want to learn more about why we're putting all this cool tech in the ocean? The majority of this cruise is dedicated to recovering and re-deploying moorings and gliders as part of the Ocean Observatories Initiative. Check out their website to learn more this exciting program, access the data it has collected, and read more about the Irminger Sea Array we are visiting on this cruise.
